I know there is a thread for July pickups but i couldnt help it. Its my first Hanley Ramirez game used jersey and its pretty well used. I just wanted to share with everyone.
I have been working on a photomatch for this jersey for a little while and it appears he started wearing the jersey april 20 and stopped using the jersey may 1. Here are some photos from those in between games and the pinstriped match up nicely. Its clear in photos i have seen that the pinstripes are different on the jerseys used before april 20 and after may 1.
I also had the idea of checking the auth date but the mlb hologram has not been put into the database yet. Once that happens (if ever) i will have a better idea. I'm thinking about getting a month of mlb.tv just to find the time frame.
I couldnt frame something like this because if i show the back then nobody can see the front and if i show the front nobody will know he signed and inscribed it so i am going the mannequin torso route i just need to fine one. When my jersey ends up in the database it will be much easier to find a match. Since yours is i would give it a shot. Like i said if i get the time i will check out mlb.tv and maybe find a way to capture some screen shots or him wearing the jersey while its dirty. I photomatched a few bats using mlb.tv but never a jersey.
I normally dont discuss prices but today i dont mind. At 1500 its the most expensive item in my collection and probably will be for a while. Its not often that i get to spend that much on one single item. The reason i say the price is if anyone else out there is looking to buy a hanley jersey this could be a nice reference.
Tangentally on topic here...
I've been looking for a current style Marlins road jersey for a while now. Anybody in thread have any ideas or suggestions?
Scrub players are more than fine, given current budget constraints.
