As a collector, I thought what your dad said was funny and not necessarily off the mark. I know of T206 baseball card collectors who debate about the factory numbers in small print on the back of the cards, and whether the ink is brown or merely faded red.

Thank you so much, and hopefully no one is offended by my father calling them a freak haha... if it makes it any better I'm now a freak too because I know Don Mattingly's shoe size.

Hey everybody, I am new to this forum and a search didn't yield the information I am looking for. Here is the story: at my first Yankee game years ago, I went with my father. During the game we walked by one of the gift shops in the stadium and possibly to deter my young self from begging him to enter the gift shop he said,

"[paraphrased] Those people in there are freaks, they are the kind of people that even know Don Mattingly's shoe size."

So here I am, a beginning GU collector (focusing in Luis Sojo and GU MLB and MiLB balls) about to go to my last game at Yankee Stadium with my father. I would like to be able to tell him this story and be able to tell him Don Mattingly's shoe size.

Can anybody help me?
