I was directed here from the Net54 memorabilia board and was told you guys might help me out with this jersey. I'm a memorabilia collector but have never dealt with any game used items of this vintage.
It came from a seller in Michigan who got it at a flea market from a man who's grandparents were neighbors with a trainer for the Tigers in the 20's. The name in the tag is "Johnson" and the only two players I can find from that time period is Syl Johnson (1922-1925) and Roy Johnson (1929-1932). The patch is missing but you can clearly see where the color bled into the jersey in the vague shape of a "D". The maker is Horace Partridge. I've done some research and my best guess is a 1929 Roy Johnson jersey but I cant be sure. If anyone can help me out with any additional info it would be greatly appreciated.
I know pre-war flannels are rare and valuable but is this, considering the missing logo patch, worth having authenticated?
