When I was only 12 years old, my mom was divorced and one of things she could afford to take me and my sister to was the San Jose Missions baseball games (from 1977-80 they were a training ground for the M’s and A’s). At one game a pitcher named Byron McLaughlin did a little “flirting” with mom and for several months invited me to hang out with him and the other players as well as check out the confines of the dugout and locker room.

His generosity as well as that from Tom Paciorek, Dave Henderson, Rene Lachemen, Ed Crosby and Tommie McMillan left me totally fascinated with the Mariners. Little did I know later in my life the M’s would spend 25 years trying to find a cure for CFF…which happened to kill my brother and several other relatives! Enough said…but last week I found a game used cap from Byron’s 1980 season with the M’s. Below I also included an image of the first note he passed to my mom trying to get her to go out with him. I am proud to say she never went out with him, but I sure benefited greatly while he tried J

Picked up another 1977/78 yankee bat. Roy white game used bat from early 1977. I dont know if the use that is on it is from white or kids using it? But the person i bought it from was a relative of Catfish Hunter.

Direct from Steiner - Jason Bay Red Sox bat broken versus Mariano Rivera in 9th inning on 9/28/2008 at Fenway. Gotta love the sometimes accurate MLB Holo database. I repaired the break, and I am putting this on eBay later today as my shelves are too full.
