I have a Davis something like that and I can say the following:

1. Mine is unfinished, not glossy like that one. But mine is a C271 also.

2. The "44" on the knob looks similar to what is on mine, but not exactly identical.

3. The signature on mine (it is also autographed) is in nearly the same spot and angle as the one pictured.

4. Mine also has 44 written on the barrel in a different style of "4" than what is on the knobs. It is the four with the open top, not the triangular top like pictured here.

5. My bat has a couple of black ink transfer spots on the back of the barrel, and that is it. Not much use on it.

Conclusion: I really don't see anything not to like. It was a bat that was at least issued to Davis and the sig looks good to me.

Not sure from the pictures, but does it show any use? Doesn't seem to have much on it.

Thought I posted this already but it didn't post so here is my second try:
I'm looking at this game used bat for sale of Eric Davis, seller says it was obtained directly from Davis his rookie year. Opinions from the experts?
