Mystery solved. HR Bat used on May 1st 2009

The authenticator confirmed this was the bat Pujols went 3 for 4 with and a Home Run!!!!!


Hologram number BB942889 was located in the MLB Authentication Database under GAME-USED BAT.

Reid - Thanks, I am so impressed by those that are always willing to help.

I think the photomatch is the best LOA you can get even if you get it direct from the athlete.

I love some of these 2009 bats where the MLB Authenticator is giving inning the bat was used so with Kyle's video match it would be cool to add that to a paper LOA.

I think Chris should employ Kyle to run a photomatch division and issue GUU LOA's!!!

Very interesting thread. There's such a wealth of visual information available today. By contrast, I haven't been able to turn up much in the way of visual matching for a Pujols bat from 2001 -- only eight short years ago.

Kyle, how did you get those amazing hi-res screen grabs? I can tell it's a HD broadcast signal, but were you somehow able to capture from a DVR, or was it recorded directly to your hard drive? However you did it, it's a great tool for research.

That's actually the NEW MLB.tv. That's how all games are aired through MLB.tv starting in 2009. I've never seen such amazing quality and I think 2009 will be "year of the photomatch" with this new research tool. From 2006-2008 it was sometimes really hard to make out any marks on bats and jerseys but in 2009 it looks like you can catch ever rack mark & loose stitch.

Here's how I do it, maybe others do it differently: You can play the game on your computer in full screen and hit the print screen button, then go into something like paint and hit paste. It'll paste an image of what your screen looked like when you hit print screen.
