Getty has Willie Stargell photos from 1980 and 1982 with NOB.

Re: Should Pirates early 80's jersey...
Just a general comment, it's not unusual to see Pirates jerseys from that era with no NOB since they typically were recycled through the minors. However, I saw the Ray jersey to which you were referring and the tagging is incorrect. The yellow jerseys were made by Wilson that year and the tag should be in the collar. Furthermore, there should be a swatch on the lower right front tail which reads "3 80"Comment

On top of that, Ray didn't join the Bucs until 1981.

No other Ray has played for the Pirates. How about a possible minor league jersey of Johnny? You can see my entire Clemson Tigers collection here with over 30 items.

Since it is tagged by Rawlings, perhaps it is actually a 1977 Phil Garner jersey (only year that they tagged the yellows)? I have not seen any yellow exemplars from that year, so don't know whether the tagging format is correct.Comment

I've seen a few 1977 yellow Pirates gamers, and all had flag tags.

I don't think it is a Garner? - Looking at the Getty images, the number 3 is not in the same position as what Garner has on his yellow, and the back number is smaller then what they wore in the late Seventies. Al,so, this is an early eighties picture of Ray, you can see the 3 is also not lined up the same as that jersey.Comment
