    I think you would stop at pink and and blue. One cause for each gender is enough. Otherwise, it could get out of hand. But players wear the pink and blue sweatbands on mother's and father's Day respectively, but there's no special bat for father's day. It just seems like if you recognize both days, why not do the same for both?

    And Red for Aids Awareness. Yellow for the soldiers that are sevring.

    I do like the idea of the blue bat for father's day to support prostate cancer but where do you draw the line at to support these awareness's.

    I signed too David!

    My brother-in-law just lost his father to prostate cancer. He was a very very nice man and had a smile all the way to the end.

    We lost my wife's father to prostate cancer 8 years ago. He did not live long enough to see our son nor see his second daughter get married.

    I believe mlb donates money to research for prostate cancer for each home run hit on Father's Day.

    However more can definitely be done by us fans if the blue bats promotion is started. While it will be great to get a game used blue bat it will be even greater to know we the fans can contribute to the search for a cure.

    We do it for the Ladies why not the men who by the way make up the majority of the MLB fan base.

    Along with myself Scott is the second collector/friend whom had this cancer in the family.

    I hope we can gather enough support so the MLB will take notice that there is a fan base interested in seeing this promotion started.

    I started an online petition for Blue Bats for Father's Day if anyone is interested:

    Annually MLB has been allowing Louisville Slugger and players to use pink bats for Mother\'s Day since 2007. MLB auctions off these bats after the Mother\'s Day game with proceeds to benefit the Susan Komen Breast Cancer Fund.

    I don't know about you guys but as a member for the male gender we should really feel discriminated against here. I think we should start a petition for blue bats on Father's Day.

    I surprised Alfred G. Rava hasn't started a class action lawsuit against MLB.

    17. The only permitted colors are:
    a. For ring-porous or semi-ring-porous wood species (such as ash, the
    oaks, elm and hickory):
    i. Natural finish;
    ii. Brown wood stain;
    iii. Black; and
    iv. Half stain (Walker finish).

    b. For diffuse-porous wood species (such as sugar maple, beech and yellow
    birch)
    i. Natural finish; and
    ii. Half stain (Walker finish) with natural or clear finish required on
    the handle and either brown or black stain allowed in the barrel,
    subject to the requirement in paragraph 16.

    Color is determined by MLB, not the manufacturer.

    The Iowa Cubs minor league club uses blue bats for fathers day. But no MLB clubs do.
