Re: August game used items....
Good news is at least the Giants take the time to send out an email listing game used items available, usually a good selection of items & wide variety of players. Jay.Comment

Re: August game used items....
Last night I went to the Jacksonville Suns' annual "Jimmy Buffett" night where the Suns wear garish jerseys and have a silent auction. They are much better looking in person than in the photo. I didn't really care which jersey I got, I just wanted one. Got one of pitching coach Reid Cornelius for $80, there were people in the store that did not win one in the auction buying team issued ones for $100, so I think I got a good deal. I know that the ones for some of the prospects went for over $250, and one of the mascot was at $275 last time I looked.
We got to go out on the field after the game and meet the jersey wearer, I had my daughter take a photo with my camera phone.Comment

Re: August game used items....
Sorry, I checked my old emails, but don't have any from the club..I'd suggest calling them direct at the stadium, asking for the team store or anyone involved w/GU items, I'm sure you can add your name to the list. I know I've received a couple lists over the past 4-5 months..Hope this helps, Jay.Comment

Re: August game used items....
Was at the Springfield Cardinals/NWA Naturals game Saturday and Sunday.
Got a few Texas League Baseballs and a Peter Kozma Game Used Bat. Kinda sucks that he does have a personalized bat but. Also I didn't have a light sharpie so the auto doesn't show up well on the wine colored LVS

Re: August game used items....
Second item-1976 Dave Concepcion game used Reds Bicentennial bat. From Reds gift shop with a date of May 15, 1976 (on tape). Reds played the Mets and Tom Seaver that day and beat them 2-0. Davey had 2 hits that day, including a triple, a run scored and a stolen base. You can see this bat on his 1977 topps card. Check it out.

Re: August game used items....
Here's my latest pick-up. Chicago Bears Game Worn Lid fitted for Brian Urlacher for a photo shoot. No doubt the lid is worn. There's dings and nicks all over the shell, and mask. The interior pads are filthy. The chin strap is all beat up, etc. Was this Brian's actual helmet? I very highly doubt it. The Bears & Tony are so stingy when it comes to letting their equipment out.
Now before I start getting slammed by the helmet pros on here I want to make this known. I picked this up for less than the cost of a new VSR-4 from Riddell. Knowing how the Bears are with their gear here is my reasonings for the purchase. The front Riddell bumper is fitted with the proper Chicago Bears team color 'Riddell', not the stock red. The chin strap is Brian's model (adams hard cup / 6 hole, fitted onto a Riddlle strap). The placement of the clasps on the straps match identically to where Brian has his. Proper facemask. Proper size, and so on. Matched or not, for less than a new Riddell VSR-4, you can't beat it.
I am in the process of trying to find pics from the actual shoot. I have a couple from his SI Photo Shoot, but I am having difficulties with an exact match. I know he did a shoot at Halas Hall, but I cannot locate any pics from it. He's done a few commercials that it might be from, but again, I am having troubles with a match. I have a couple of pics from a movie clip he did on Michigan Ave. but nothing solid. There are very specific characteristics on this lid to match, so its a matter of time, and the right photo.

Re: August game used items....
just got back from Cleveland and while the National was disappointing from a GU prospective, I left the show for an afternoon to meet up with a fellow Indians collector (and forum member) and was able to purchase five awesome jerseys to add to my collection. They include:
-2006 Cleveland Indians/Buckeyes GU Ronnie Belliard Jersey
-2006 Cleveland Indians/Buckeyes GU Grady Sizemore Jersey (HR Jersey)
2007 Victor Martinez GU & Signed 1975 White Throwback jersey (MLB Holo)
2007 CC Sabathia GU & Signed Jackie Robinson Day jersey - CC started the game and went 8 IP for the win (MLB Holo)
Victor Martinez Civil Rights GU Jersey
I also just received four GU uniforms (Jerseys, pants & hats) I purchased from the Cleveland Indians vs. Tigers throwback game played in July. The uniforms include Victor Martinez (41), Kerry Wood (got the save #34), Asdrubal Cabrera (13) and Shin Soo Choo (17). Thanks to Marc over at the Tigers!
