Hey, at least your not the Lehigh Valley Ironpigs. That was the name chosen here a couple of years ago.

I do like the name Richmond Artillery more than the Richmond Flying Squirrels. Too bad it was not chosen -- as I see a lot of AA games especially at Reading.

Thanks everyone....I really thought that I had a chance with Artillery.

The team coming here is the former Conn. Defenders, AA for the Giants.

What are they thinking with that weak name. I hope they have a great logo in mind as it worked for the shoe company but not so great for that fried yummy treat!

They are affiliated with the Giants and are formerly the Coneticut Defenders.

The new nickname will grow on you....A couple years ago, the new local AAA team was nicknamed the "IronPigs" and everyone thought it was worst nickname in the world.....Two years later, it's widely accepted and part of the local culture......(couldn't even tell you what the runnerup nicknames were anymore).
