I picked these up from Ron (islandstyle) this past weekend and wanted to say "thank you" to him, he gave these items to me for free and I was finally able to meet him in person after meeting him on the forum and conversing via emails for years.
I have some nice Benny Agbayani GU items and Ron was the guy that supplied the majority of the items I have.
I just picked up two new great items to add to my collection. These are actually Hall of Fame items in my opinion. First is Mariano Rivera's game worn cap from this year’s All Star Game in St. Louis. Mo recorded his 5th career All Star Save and set a new all time record. The best thing about this cap is I believe I have it photo matched! I found a photo of Mariano from the game and you are able to see under his cap and everything matches perfectly. He marked the cap with his "42" and Dios Te Bendiga ***
the second item... Derek Jeter's game worn cap from the 2009 World Series! Really an impressive item and Hall of Fame worthy by every means in my mind (especially considering Mariano Rivera's and Andy Pettitte's caps are already part of the Hall of Fame). Cap is authenticated by Major League Baseball and came directly from the Yankees-Steiner partnership.
I would love to be able to find a concrete photo match for this cap, but as everyone knows caps can be very hard to do. I did find a photo that I think would be huge if I could get a high-resolution file of it from Getty Images. It shows Jeter with the cap turned so you can see inside the cap. To me it clearly looks like the #2 is visible and location is the same. If I could get the higher resolution image, I also think I might be able to see if the 59-Fifty tagging that runs in the inside of the cap matches up perfectly! Even without the photo match, the cap comes with pretty iron clad documentation!
Just got this from the recent Grey Flannel auction. It was part of a lot that included a Giambi A's bat (its ready when you are Joe), and a signed Abreu Yankees Carolina Clubs bat (available for sale/trade).
the Soriano is a 2005, with great use and a very minor handle crack under the tape.....
