Though I am not really a 'player collector,' I do have a few examples in my own collection... never from the same year though.

The best example I can think of is my 2006 Carlos Beltran alternate black road and 2007 Carlos Beltran alternate black home jerseys.

Also, from Bill Robinson... his '84 and '89 homes; his '85, '87 and '88 roads,
This little set represents 1 of every style game jersey Bill worn on field during his 6 yrs as Mets hitting instructor. During this era, the Mets wore 2 diff. home jersey styles: 84-86 and 87-89; the Mets wore 3 diff. road jersey styles: 84-86, 87 and 88-89.

I also have a couple of 'near misses' with John Olerud --
His '99 alternate home and his '99 regular home (Mets); his 2001 alternate road and 2001 regular road (Mariners).

I have both uniforms from Ryan Garko when he played for Team USA

I am sure there are alot of collections that have a home and road jersey example from a certain player. Perhaps some have pairs of jerseys from same year and same set. For those who collect a favorite player, I can only think this is a desirable quest. I just have a pair of jerseys from Cardinals Rookie pitcher Tim Sherrill (1990-1991). He was a late season call-up in 1990. Interestingly enough, the home white jersey is actually a pre-1987 jersey (lack of script in sleeve and tag type) the road grey is a 1990. Both have since had the AAB patch removed.
