    Hanley Ramirez GU helmet

This one is loaded in the mlb system as a signed helmet and it looks like it has some use on it. What do you guys think?

    Here is the hologram description:

Hologram number LH044922 was located in the MLB Authentication Database under AUTOGRAPHED BATTING HELMET.
    Session Product Description:

    Session Name: HOU AT FLA
    Session Date: September 18, 2008
    Autographer:
    Authenticator: AUTHENTICATORS, INC.
    Additional Information: BLACK

Here is a pic of Hanley from September 17, 2008 from Getty:

    Another from September 17, 2008

Finally here is a pic of Hanley from July 10th showing the back of his helmet.

The "2" on the back of the helmet looks to be significantly smaller in the pic than it is on your helmet but it appears that the style is similar in that they are both handwritten. I do not know enough about the Marlins and their markings for helmets to comment much beyond that.

The September 17th pics do not appear to be a photomatch which would have helped. The Sept. 17th pic shows a lot of pine tar on the helmet which is not present on the pics you posted. It may just be an older helmet as the date on the COA is typically the date of collection but it also may be a player trait. I did not dig through enough images to say for certain.

Your helmet shows obvious use but I do not know enough about Hanley helmet traits to say for certain that he used it or comment on the signature. It is a little concerning that the MLB entry does not mention the player at all. Just trying to offer some additional information that you can dig deeper with.

      Re: Hanley Ramirez GU helmet

I've never seen a number hand-written on the back of a helmet before. But, I do know that after the All Star Game in 2008, Hanley kept wearing his helmet with the ASG logo on the back of the helmet for the rest of the season I believe. So if this helmet is legit, it should be easily photomatched with the number hand-written like that, and before the All Star Game it would've been worn.

If anyone can help me verify that it is game used I would be much obliged. This is on my grail list.
