I love the Zimmerman spikes. As a big fan of game-used cleats, I must say that they are absolutely fantastic. Congrats and enjoy the pickup.

When it rains, it pours! If you're a Cardinals jersey collector, then you know two of the toughest-to-find modern jerseys are the Turn Ahead the Clock and red MDA shirts from 1999. The TATC shirt was part of Century 21's promotion throughout MLB that season. Designed to suggest a jersey style from 2021, it's regarded as maybe the ugliest Cardinals jersey ever. The MDA jersey is the only red jersey ever worn by the Birds in a regular-season game. Unlike the mesh BP jerseys worn for years, it's a regular knit jersey. After years of looking for these, I acquired both within two days of each other. Thanks to David for the TATC and to Mark for the MDA jersey!

Two winners, Jeff. The Cubs have never worn a charity jersey of any sort, and they didn't participate in the Century21 promotion (spoilsports)

perlman9, absolutely love the Zimm cleats! Awesome pick up. I'm a huge Zimm fan and haven't seen a pair of cleats like these before. What year are they from? I have a couple pairs of his cleats and recently picked up his road batting helmet. Congrats on the pick up!

Thanks! I believe 2007 but may be wrong on that. They are nice with a busted cleat on the bottom so he must have worn for a while. Shoot me an email if you would like more pics, etc...

I would be curious to hear what Pete Rose says about the rubber grip. I have 2000+ photos of Pete and have never seen this grip.

I just got the bat ordering records for Rose and there is actually specific requests contained in there for this feature - referenced as special black grip, for the order.

Yeah, but that was for one bat order for a single bat on 25-Nov-68 -- not in 1974. Were there other orders?

It shows a precedent. I doubt there were huge varieties of black grips during the early 70s. Your lack of having this bat in a photo does not mean it would not have existed.The signature by Pete was done recently, as I talked to the owner that got it. We can leave the discussion as to Pete's sincerity or lack thereof when doing signings to another time, but he did see the bat recently.
Not sure your motivations, but man, you are exhausting....
