Re: March Pick-Ups
I wonder how it works. Because I've seen minor leaguers w PRO bats before they've made it to the bigs....

That's how Rawlings stamps their minor league bats. When the make it to the pros they get stamped with pro stamped under their name.Leave a comment:

Re: March Pick-Ups
I just picked up this game ready/issued 2005 Matt Kemp Rawlings bat. It has the old "Professional Model" stamping below his name vs the "-PRO-" that they have nowadays. They also had the -PRO- stamping back in 2005 so maybe they did the "Professional Model" stamp when it was their first order or when it was a trial order? Can anyone explain that?

MARVELOUS Robinson bat...it would be great if you could somehow pinpoint it to specifically the 1966 season, as that was Robby's 2nd MVP year (with Orioles; he won the NL MVP in '61 with Cincinnati).

He ordered that bat in both years, so I tried to check variations in bat rack streak colors, with Crosley Field being black and Memorial being dark green (at least from what I researched) The bat seems to show some of both, but not really prominently.
The other Robinson bat I have pictured below I pinpointed to the '66 MVP year with Baltimore, most likely, as it is covered with the green bat rack streaks all over the bat.
I think Frank Robinson is one of the underrated players of all time, IMHO.

Teixeira always puts inspirational words inside the hats that he wears. A few of 2010 caps was for a name for a kid that he met who was battling cancer: http://www.nytimes.com/2010/04/13/sp...3teixeira.htmlLeave a comment:
