Those hats are, um, ok? I am trying to be nice, but i agree, they look like a stadium giveaway or were designed by Twin Enterprises' 47 Brand that Lids has 1000s of.

I do not understand why MLB insists on creating different color caps every year. It is fine for the teams whose colors match but for the other teams it just looks bad. The Mets looked horrible wearing the white cap with their road gray uniform and they looked even worse wearing the red caps with their home whites.

Here is a simple solution, keep the hat color the same as the team wears every day and replace the the logo with the stars and stripes logo that they use on those caps.

Or, just go back to what they did years ago and not make these caps? There was nothing wrong with the team cap and an American flag on the side, but MLB needed to make even more money on merchandising while donating a small portion to veterans to make it look like a "feel good" event.

When I look at it again it almost looks like a cheap stadium giveaway cap. It just needs a Chevy logo on the back replacing the MLB logo and you're set.

Wow! I just tuned into the Giants vs. Mets game to get a glimpse of these. First reaction is that they are hideous, kind of like those hats I wore on my first team in first grade. However, they kind of grow on me. Still, I think the MLB could have done better...I wonder how long it will take for Steiner to get these in.

Has anyone heard what will be for the 2011 stars and stripes hats?

They have done blue in 09, red in 2010, and the awful white ones in 2010.... Any word for this year?

I hope it is not a flag now covering the entire hat now or uncle sam embedded in the team logo, or Hacksaw Jim Duggan on each team's hat this year, actually Duggan would be ok....

Good question. As a person who has several of the 2010 hats, I am curious as to what MLB will come up with this year.

I agree that the 2008 and 09 versions look a lot better with the full uniforms. However, the white ones display nicely.

No matter how they look, they have a lot of symbolic value, which is a big part of the reason I like collecting them.

My thought was that they would do the White hats again this year, but use the BLUE bills for teams that had RED bills last year and vice versa... then next year they will drape the flag over the crown...
