Guess what!!! I just found footage of my Bagwell HR marker. The video that this came from is from Frank Thomas's performance at the 1994 HR Derby. I never thought I would see my actual marker hanging from Three Rivers. I can't quite explain how excited I am, like that kid in the candy store.
AWESOME!! Great piece you got there, shame he has been hurt since that incredible debut. At least they took two of three from the Gnats.
What are the odds that all three jerseys from this auction were won by GUU members?! Very cool....
That is really neat. I'm was glad to see them win the Giants series as well to hopefully get the ship turned in the right direction. But now it's on to Milwaukee and Miller Park. Yikes!
Does anybody per chance know what the team is going to do with the 1971 throwback uniforms that they wore earlier this season? I have been waiting for them to hit MLB Auctions but to no avail. Are they selling them in the team store instead? Does anybody on this thread have access to the team store? Would be grateful for any answers.
I loved me some Jay Bell back in the day. I was glad he finally got his ring with Arizona. I still remember when he won his gold glove and broke the Wizard's strangle hold on the award at short. Nice seat and shot of Three Rivers!
Jay is still one of the nicest human beings on the planet, I think. I got to talk with him again a couple of weeks ago at an Arizona League game, where he was giving Andy Green a hand coaching the rookies, and I hope to see him again tomorrow, though he might be back to coaching his son's baseball team, now that school has started up.

You know, I noticed your sign looked metal and thought that was intriguing. I only personally saw seats that were painted into the early 80's. By the late 80's-90's when I went, I actually was watching the game and not running to the upper deck , so I never saw Bags HR markers. I did some research, and found this list of players that hit them into the upper deck at Three Rivers:
1: Willie Stargell - 8/9/70 off Mets' Ron Taylor (RF) 469'
2: Willie Stargell - 5/30/71 off Cubs' Ken Holtzman (RF) 458'
4: Bob Robertson - 7/16/71 off Padres' Steve Arlin (LF) 456'
5: Willie Stargell - 5/31/73 off Braves' Gary Gentry (RF) 468'
6: Greg Luzinski - 4/18/79 off Pirates' Don Robinson (LF) 483'
7: Bobby Bonilla - 7/12/87 off Padres' Eric Show (RF) 454'
8: Howard Johnson - 4/15/91 off Pirates' Zane Smith (LF) 456'
9: Jeff Bagwell - 5/5/91 off Pirates' Bob Kipper (LF) 472'
10: Mark Whiten - 8/11/93 off Pirates' Blas Minor (RF) 464'
11: Glenallen Hill - 5/6/94 off Pirates' Denny Neagle (LF) 457'
*: Frank Thomas - 7/11/94 in all star home run hitting contest (LCF) 519'
12: Jeff Bagwell - 5/29/96 off Pirates' Danny Darwin (LF) 459'
13: Devon White - 6/16/96 off Pirates' Denny Neagle (LF-facade) 456'
I also was able to find this photo, (the only one I could find on the internet) of a painted seat. It is above the numbered facade, to the right and is painted black with a white number. Kind of hard to see, but you can notice it if you look hard enough:
My thoughts are maybe "Bags" hit the concrete facade, and they attached a metal marker up there instead, because it did not land in a seat. I know at the Vet in Philly, they installed a marker for "Pops" moon shot (top right):
It was fun looking this up, and taking a trip down memory lane!
Cool thing; I just found video footage of Bagwell's second Upper Deck blast. It starts at 0:49 of this feature. You can see the numbers in LF, but not the #9 marker that I own from his first Three Rivers Stadium Upper Deck HR.
I was watching that auction too..it sold for $290. The only thing that held me back is the fact that it was worn for 1 game, but it was a hell of a debut so I think the winning bidder got a good price on it.
Hey fellas, I was the winning bidder!
2011 Derek Lee Pirates Home Game Used Jersey. Worn on August 1st, 2011 in his debut game with the Pirates in which he hit 2 HR's. MLB authentication.
Love the Ludwick jersey and the Cedeno throwback uniform too.
@MLB~NUT, so you won the Ludwick...nice! Did you happen to see what the Derrek Lee went for? I missed the end of that auction. I was this close to bidding on that one also.

Well, it took some time and ALOT more than I wanted to spend, but I FINALLY won a 70s throwback uniform! This one was worn by RONNY CEDENO. Jersey and pants w/MLB holo. I am sure once I am actually holding these in my hands, it will be that much sweeter.
Thanks Tony I am showing my age but I picked it up for 300.00 in an auction about seven years prior to ebay existing. It was the first baseball item my wife agreed let me buy after we married. I was making 7.25 an hour and going to graduate school so even at 300 it was a major sacrafice. It is one of my favorite pieces for that reason. By the way I still have the wife as well

This is one of the best-feeling posts I have read in a long time.

I love that clemente poster, I remember passing it on ebay years ago, and Ill never forgive myself for it. If you ever want to sell it, please look me up, I would love to own it.
