I only have a couple of game used steelers items in my steelers collection.I have a pair of blue seats from the old 3 rivers stadium...And i have a cup holder from the 3 rivers stadium and a piece of turf from 3 rivers stadium.....I have a pair of game used and signed gloves given to me personally during a game in 2008 @ minnesota when the steelers were in town from brett keisel,i have them in a frame with a signed photo i took of him during the game.....
I have posted these items a lot recently as they are both June pickups which I have photomatched, so they've already appeared in their respective threads. Apologies to anybody who might be getting "posting fatigue" from me with respect to the below, but I just had to include it in a Steelers thread!
2010 Mewelde Moore Game Used Home Black Jersey (I also have the pants and socks, which are not pictured) and 2010 Ryan Clark Game Used Throwback Uniform.
The one he is wearing in that card was game issued because it's not cut at the bottom. I honestly almost bought the 04 Pro Bowl jersey from the TSE site, but couldn't photo-match it. The pictures of him in the game clearly show him wearing a jersey that is cut. Plus that card was created back when."Game Used piece of jersey" could have just been a piece of jersey acquired straight from the shelf at Dicks Sporting goods. Game Used on cards back then were pretty much all fakes.
The biggest issue with the jersey is that there are so many game issued jerseys available. Once the signature ink completely fades from the game used and game issued jerseys 20 years from now, a bunch of game issued might pop up as being game used. We'll all know that this one is legit, but there is no way to prove if a second one was ever worn etc.
And why do players write game used or the date it was worn and team they played? It looks so tacky! Just sign your name on the number on back for football jerseys. Everything else looks funny IMO.
Name and Number is all I would ever ask for when getting something signed. And I would put my finger on the first number on back for him to sign in the spot I wanted it. I hate when they sign the mesh below numbers. And whats the point of writing game used on it? Isn't that what LOA is for or COA?
