I picked up this Geovany Soto 2008 (His ROY year) GU chest protector and shin guards with a LOA from the Cubs about six months ago. Each piece exhibits prolonged and extensive use. Now I've got to find the time to photo match!

Calvin Schiraldi cap worn during the 1989 season.



Blake DeWitt 1947 "turn back the clock" cap worn (on the bench) May 4th 2011 vs. the Dodgers at Dodger Stadium.



Team Issued 1918 "turn back the clock" cap worn May 21st 2011 vs. the Red Sox at Fenway Park. New Era did not sell these caps in retail, only the team got them.


David DeJesus 1912 "turn back the century" cap worn June 2nd 2012 vs. the Giants at AT&T Park. MLB Authentication ID FJ760010. DeJesus was 1 for 3 with a home run, walk, and stolen base.

It has been a few years since I let go of my Alou jersey & cleats. Thanks to a fellow collector I was able to get my hands on another set.

I have decided to narrow my Cubs collection to my favorite player at each position and get one jersey of each player.

Alou was only on the team for 3 seasons, but he was a favorite of mine. This is a 2002 Alternate.

So here is who else I decided on....

I wanted to get this thread going again with spring in the air and the baseball season right around the corner.

Here is a 2010 Rookie Season Starlin Castro game used batting helmet that I have photomatched to several images throughout the season. Its hard to get the right lighting to show the matches in the pictures I take but the use is phenomenal and there are several distinct areas of pine tar, scuffs and stress marks that make this a homerun for my collection....

Here is an uncracked bat used by Cubs Prospect Jorge Soler last year in Peoria. The bat shows awesome use and with pure luck I was able to photo match it very nicely....

Not game used, but certainly Cubs related, my Cubs All-Century Team Poster. Each autograph has been obtained in person between November 2011 and now. Unfortunately I didn't start this project a few years earlier, as I missed out on getting Ron Santo to sign it. In total there are eight signatures, Mark Grace, Fergie Jenkins, Lee Smith, Andre Dawson, Bruce Sutter, Ryne Sandberg, Billy Williams and Ernie Banks. I believe the only living players on the poster I haven't obtained yet are Sammy Sosa and Andy Pafko.
