The Stockton Ports (Level-A Oakland A's affiliate) lost the California League Championship last night to the Lake Elsinore Storm. After the game the Ports game out tons of stuff, mostly bats. Rashun Dixon (brother of Anthony Dixon of the 49ers) handed out a lot of bats as well as his caps. I got an un-cracked bat from him and had it signed by him as well as Michael Choice and Mike Benacka. I also picked up a used bat boy patriotic jersey from the San Jose Giants' last home game before the lost the Northern Division title to the Ports. It was signed by several players but unfortunately Gary Brown left early. Maybe I'll catch him next year if he goes to Fresno.
The boy that I mentor and take with me to games did better than me in Stockton last night, he got Rashun Dixon's game used cap (still wet with sweat!) two bats, four baseballs, and James Simmons' barely used cleats that he used with the AZL A's.
