Those seats look great. That would be a great time for sure. Have to put a WBC on my list for sure.

Re: Request to see your World baseball Classic (WBC) memorabilia

Does anyone know who is handling the WBC gear from this 2017 tournament? Is it still some through Highland Mint, or is it generally going to be auctioned off on MLB auctions? Or both?

Trying to figure out who is handling what for this year.

    Any help is greatly appreciated

    Thank you,

Nothing really surprises me any more when it comes to what card companies will do for a buck. I remember reading about a one-of-a-kind relic "card" (in quotes because, if I recall correctly, it was more like a little fold-out pamphlet) that contained cut sigs of JFK and Lee Harvey Oswald, a swatch from the seat fabric from the death limo, and I don't remember what all else. Bizarre.

When it comes to the Ordonez jersey, I'm really surprised that someone was going to toss it with the name plate, number and other patches still attached. That's just adding stupid onto dumb, IMO.

My '06 WBC used jersey is tagged 0062WBC and my game used jersey from '09 is tagged 0063.

Hope that helps a little. Both are certified as used by MLB Authentication.

ONE OF A KIND ITEM, found nowhere else in the world except RIGHT HERE!

Up for auction is a game-worn MAGGLIO ORDOÑEZ "Team Venezuela" jersey from the 2009 World Baseball Classic -- but here's the twist! This jersey was used by the Topps baseball card company to be cut up and placed in cards as game-used "relics." The jersey was salvaged from Topps by an employee, saved from the dumpsters.

With this item you get a privileged, inside look at how Topps manufactures its relic cards. The jersey is in a partial state of being cut up - some pieces have been cut and treated with an adhesive backing, which would have then been cut into smaller squares for use in the cards. You get those pieces (one of which contains the #3 from the back) along with the remains of the jersey.

The jersey is authenticated by WBC/MLB with a numbered hologram sticker. The following parts of the jersey remain intact - the Venezeuala logo across the front, the number 0 across on the back, the MINDEPORTE WBC logo patch on left sleeve and the Venezuela flag patch on the right sleeve, and the ORDOÑEZ nameplate on back.

Uniform is manufactured by Majestic. Size 50. Comes in the original inventory bag from Topps!
