Re: May pick-ups
not trying to offend or be a d**k but 92/93 bad year for road jordan's.. spacing of NOB is off,,spacing tween NOB and top of 23 off.. spacing between 2 and 3 in front to tight.. spacing tween top of 23 and bottom of "bulls" is off as is spacing of top of bulls and neckline.... Im in no way an expert on MJ gamers ,, far from it,, just my opinion and this caught my eye right away,,, there are waaay more qualified MJ people that are forum members,,, perhaps they could chime in
I've often found in the last 3 or so yrs that when there's MJ "game worn" jerseys on HA's auction site, I've emailed Mike there and explained to him my reasoning on why they are mostly duds. I got yelled at the first time for mentioning them on this forum without emailing them first, so from that point on I email them and respectively and nicely, try to point out the problems. Most of the time they keep the jersey in their auction citing a Lampson or some other LOA as "proof" and I just go on my merry way. I've done my due diligence and it's their prerogative if they decide to keep the auction piece in there.
Again, I really wish auction houses would get over this "LOA" thing and stop trusting them 100% and do ZERO due diligence on their end. But I'm sure they are busy with auction setup/etc, but I think it's worth it in the end to all collectors and the hobby.
Good luck my friend!Comment

My email is sox83cubs84@hotmail.com .
No need to email now unless you want to, though, as a couple of collectors who posted after me summed up my opinion of your MJ jersey to a T. I just was trying to avoid putting you on the spot publicly, as this was an item you bought believing it to be a gamer, not an item you were trying to sell to an unsuspecting buyer

Re: May pick-ups
here's a different Mj Bulls road from a different year, but with the same flaws. This one's a 1996-97, properly sized, but with the same NOB drop and spacing problems.
By contrast, this photo is the October 1993 SI cover regarding MJ's retirement. Almoswt assuredly a 1992-9 season photo, this displays what the back ofan MJ Bulls jersey SHOULD look like.

Re: May pick-ups
Ouch, I hate it esp when a GUU member purchases something like this. Mickey is correct, this jersey is not legit. I spotted this MJ jersey in HA's auction site a month ago and knew right away the spacing on the front and NOB placement made this a dud. Even with any LOA from the Nets, I don't care! I also corresponded with another MJ jersey collector, who is also a member on here, and also confirmed my thoughts.

Re: May pick-ups
Its been a while since I added a game used item to my collection and I am unsure if this qualifies. I went to the Mariners Angels game thursday night and stopped by the team shop. They were having a sale of Game Used Lineup Cards for 50.00. I had always wanted one and 50.00 seemed reasonable. I searched through over 100 of them. I picked one from Sept 24, 2008 because it was a game that Felix Hernandez pitched and Ichiro, Guerrero, Hunter, Anderson, and Teixeira played. My choice of this card was essentially arbitrary as I had no idea of the outcome of the game. I went online to check the box score. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that the lineup card was from the game in which Francisco RodrÃguez recorded his MLB record 62nd save. I doubt it's terribly valuable but I think it's unique and potentially worth more than the 50.00 I have invested in it.Comment

Congrats on your pleasant "surprise".

Re: May pick-ups
The extra surprise is always a plus...I once bought a GU MLB hologrammed baseball on eBay that was sold as just a normal game ball from a Mets/Braves tilt...it turned out to be used in the game where Craig Kimbrel (
NL ROY the following season) notched his first career save.
Congrats on your pleasant "surprise".

Re: May pick-ups
I have a somewhat similar story, I bought a lineup card from the Reds somewhat arbitrarily a few years back and it ended up being from former Reds pitcher Matt Maloney's first career start
Nothing too earth shattering but still kinda cool and not a bad deal for $10Comment
