The deal with these auctions is that people lose their collective minds. Something with the MLB portion of it coupled with the rarity of these one day per year pink bats and others thinking how the funds go to charity combines to make people lose any semblence of common sense when bidding on this stuff.

As mentioned with the Harper as just one example what did he use the bat for 1, 2 3 at bats in one game of his career?

Even if he becomes the career home run leader is a pink bat used for 1 - 3 total at bats worth $4 grand?

I refuse to bid in these auctions as they are just beyond ridiculous given the price points these items hit.

Thats why its a free country, if someone chooses to spend 4k on a bat used once its their choice! Just like if some one pays 350k over sticker for a new rare ferarri, its their choice how to spend their money, its all what the item is worth to thayt person! I don't have tons of cash to spend but if I did I'd be damned if I'd be outbid!!!! Just my opinion....

Definitely a nice score on the Holliday bat. I ended up with the Mitch Moreland batting gloves and bat. Definitely overpaid, but after leading the auction for the better part of 8days, I slapped on an angry bid when someone bid it up with 5 minutes left.

One of my grail items is a pink Ian Kinsler bat and I am bummed I missed out on it. I set a limit at $600 and found myself bidding $950 the other day, all the while knowing that the bat would never be worth that much.

Todd and Scott, I was wondering if you guys were ever going to stop on that Gordon gamer! Lol. Great pick up. I thought that was one of the best looking pink bats in the auction this year. The two tone with all the pine tar gave it a great look.

I'm happy to have landed the Pence and Wieters pink bats as well as the Zimmerman cleats.

Yeah I should have bid on the 1st Gordon bat that went for $420 but I wanted to wait because I thought all the crazy bidding would go on for bat #1 and maybe I could steal bat #2. Well then the bidding got out of control for his 2nd bat. I just couldn't justify paying close to 1k for another pink Gordon bat since I already have his 2008. Who ended up winning it? A forum member??

I did end up with the Pedro Alvarez MD bat for $285. Not bad. At least I'll have some extra fire power in the bank when the 2nd round of MD auctions start.

Just picked up this overpriced 2012 mother's day bat. One and done. Just wanted to get one of these pigs. They look a lot better than those lighter pink bats over the last few years.

Elliot Johnson's. Authenticated to used in the 2nd Inning. He saw 1 pitch and got a seeing-eye single with the bat. It didn't break, so I wonder if he used this same bat in the 8th Inning when he hit a homerun. I am hoping to get it signed in September when the Rays play the white sox in Chicago.

So when does the 2nd wave of pink mother's day items hit auction?

I'm just hoping there is even going to be a second round of Mother's Day items. There were some pink bats and cleats I was watching on Mother's Day and was disappointed not to see any of them in the auction. Last year I thought for sure there would be a second auction for the pink items but it never came so I'm not holding my breath.

I'd be curious to see what the Giancarlo Stanton walk off granny pink bat would get at auction. It'd be tough to get to the $3,600 Hamilton or $3,995 Harper territory but maybe...
