Re: Official Chicago White Sox GU
Do you have a link to one of these auctions or offerings? Believe me, I constantly look around for Dunn bats and am stumped by your statement. I've never seen a Dunn White Sox bat being described as having use from his Reds days (2001-2008). Any collector worth their salt would know he almost exclusively used Louisville Slugger bats with the Reds and the LVS bats he did order while with the White Sox had that team name on the barrel. I haven't seen a Marucci bat in Dunn's hands in a game earlier than 2012 (the vast majority were LVS that year) and can't conceive of someone buying a Dunn Marucci thinking it was used as a Red.

Re: Official Chicago White Sox GU
Lucked into this Abreu gamer at the garage sale after I pulled it from a packed box not yet on display. Has Abreu's custom tape job and shows great use. Considering what Abreu gamers sell for this was a historic find. Open to trades on this for Cubs items since I am more of a Cubs collector -- I collect Rizzo, Grace, Sosa, Wood & Prior. Debating whether to throw onto eBay or cosign to Goldin Auctions so it gets into a nice White Sox collection.
Should be an easy photomatch with mlb.tv.

Re: Official Chicago White Sox GU
Picked up a couple bats that are among the best in my collection -- a 1969-70 Luis Aparicio and a 2014 Jose Abreu. Both are uncracked.
The guy I got the Aparicio from said he was with his dad when Aparicio gave the bat to his dad at Comiskey. It had been in their family ever since.

The Abreu rookie has his mom's name on it. It popped up in the Kansas City Royals team store of all places. The store didn't know what it had. A college kid bought it for a steal and turned a nice profit. I'm guessing the bat was mistakenly left in the dugout at the end of a series.Leave a comment:

I have the Duke and Putnam on ebay for a little more than cost to cover selling / paypal fees.

Re: Official Chicago White Sox GU
Some prices realized on the Minoso 1959 jerseys:
Abreu $1831
Rodon $1082
Sale $625
A Garcia $557
Samardzia $425
Putnam $300
Duke $300
I had to go on an international flight the night of the auction so I put strong bids on 4 jerseys and ended up winning three of them which is two more than I need.

Re: Official Chicago White Sox GU
I won Alexei Ramirez's Chicago White Sox Minnie Minoso tribute jersey from MLB Auctions. I wanted Jose Abreu's jersey, but when the price got to be too high for me I targeted the Ramirez since he also has the Cuban tie-in with Minoso.
Does anyone know what the other Minoso jerseys went for? I was at Riot Fest on the night the auctions ended. I won the Ramirez at $350, which I thought was a good deal. I'm thinking it'll be the one and only time the Sox wear the #9 jerseys (though I wouldn't be totally surprised if the Sox continue to wear #9 and the Cubs #14 in future crosstown games.)
I'm used to buying White Sox jerseys that are washed at the Garage Sales. This Ramirez obviously came right off his back because it smelled bad.Leave a comment:

I just took a look at my receipts from those garage sales....and nothing is itemized. It just states how much I spent.Leave a comment:

Salukidave- A credit card number and a real name can be linked very easily. They've been made aware and were appreciative. Will be fun to watch this unfold.Leave a comment:

Re: Official Chicago White Sox GU
I'll just add that, even if they wanted to, the White Sox have no way whatsoever of matching credit card receipts to specific items sold at their Garage Sales. To say otherwise is hogwash. Let's stop the charade. This site is about providing accurate information for the benefit of collectors, not spreading lies to scare people.Leave a comment:

Au Contraire.
Received a call back from the Sox today asking for a couple of other follow-up pieces of information. They indeed keep credit card receipts, and along with some Ebay user ID information are able very easily to put two and two together. All three people I've spoken to over there could not have been nicer. Looks like they are seriously going to pursue this.
Pointing out the obvious, you self-painted yourself as a martyr with that statement. Go back and read it if you don't believe me.
I seriously doubt you received a single, let alone six, emails supporting your crusade or someone would have spoken up for themselves. You have no case.
Wanting to leave this thread with a big positive: salukidave, that Bo jersey is awesome!Leave a comment:
