What if its just "real" wear. No one said anything about putting fake wear on a retail authentic Jersey. Maybe it was a retail Jersey that someone just actually wore. The original poster was just asking if the Jersey itself was a Jersey made for the field.

So seems like the consensus is that its a retail Jersey that has been possibly used.

Let me give you this example:

If I had a retail Jersey (and for whatever reason however I obtained it didnt know it was retail but of course thought it was retail so I wore it) and than gave it to you and asked you if it was an actual gamer.

Your reply to me would be, No its a retail with fake wear???

It doesnt have fake wear. I actually wore it!!

It's not as odd a concept as you might think. I recall being asked to look at a Tigers Norm Cash home knit in the 1990s, a real find if legit. However, in addition to forged tags, someone had put fake wear on the jersey...the jersey had never been laundered, but the placket braiding and the D on the front were both damaged.

Its just an authentic jersey, that someone put fake wear on it. I have a real 92-93 game used Road Gilmour jersey. He wore a size 52 in the 92-93 season. When it has the centre ice tag in the collar, that usually means its just an authentic and not game used.

Size is wrong, I have never seen an NHL player post 1990 wear a size 48 (even 5 foot 7 Theo Fleury wore a 52)

The wear looks inconsistent. Just one stain and normal wash wear if you made Mom do it and used the gentle cycle.

That tag in the collar? Retail Authentic all the way.

Just some food for thought.

Not much of a help with hockey for the most part, but I remembered the infamous Gretzky high stick on Gilmour during the '93 playoffs.

The video is not crisp to say the least, but it shows Doug with the same style jersey on and cut on his chin. Obviously can't tell if the logo staining on your jersey is blood, but wanted to bring this specific incident to your attention.
