The jersey was sold by Blades' niece, who was divesting several items belonging to her uncle to help pay medical bills. With manipulation, you can faintly see Blades' name on the tag under the collar and written in the tail.

Dressed to the Nines is useful, but far from accurate. In '26, the home jerseys were plain white with just the logo on the sleeve. The team received a new set for the World Series -- these had piping on the placket and a different logo on the sleeve. I think that's what Dressed to the Nines uses for its home illustration. The road jerseys in '26 had the birds on bat and pinstripes; a new set for the WS looked similar, but the logo was altered a bit (easily differentiated by the "C").

the red piping is classic cardinals.
was the team nickname and the two cardinals w/ bat removed for a reason?
is there a name stripe tag inside the jersey to identify blades as the owner?
i just find these old jersey finds very interesting historically.

Jeff, what an absolutely amazing jersey!

My favorite of the year is my 1985 Gary Carter Mets road jersey.

mine would be the two custom Rawlings wristbands (home and road version) from 1996 period. very inexpensive but hard to find. waited four years for them to come up for sale again. got to thank Tony (3arod13) for giving me the go ahead with the purchase, preventing a bidding war. thats what this hobby is about -- helping friends complete their collecting goals.

My most sentimental pickup this year was a game worn Mika Kane Cal Bears jersey since he gave it to me personally. Kane was a student-athlete I advised and I was very proud of him for coming back to school, after his pro football career didn't pan out, and graduating this past May.

After holding out on collecting game used baseballs, I finally picked up a few for my Jimmy Rollins player collection this past year. The top one is his first career World Series hit...a single off Matt Garza. It's a ball authenticated to Game 3 of the 2008 WS. I also picked up a Rollins HR ball authenticated to 9/19/12 vs the Mets. It was J-Roll's 192nd career HR and his 43rd career leadoff HR. In addition I picked up J-Roll's 400th career double. I'm now on the lookout for a J-Roll "triple" ball to complete the career cycle!!
