So a couple days ago Matt Diaz did a Q&A on his twitter and I asked if I bought a bat would he sign it for me. He said he'd bring me one. Matt shops at the Publix I work at during the offseason. Yesterday he decided to stop by the store, what a great guy.




The bat is from 2009 and I have yet to try and photomatch it. Any help with that would be awesome.

Yeah it was pretty awesome. He told me he also collects game used and baseball memorabilia, and was happy to finally make a Pirates fan happy for once.

Just got back from Mobile, Alabama from the Senior Bowl and while a lot of players didn't give anything away, I struck up a friendship with Quinton Patton of LA Tech (who's from Nashville too) and Jonathan Franklin of UCLA, and I got this from Jonathan - both guys now follow me on twitter too. REALLY hope the Titans draft these guys (Wishful thinking I know)

Hi guys,

my recent pick-ups are the following:

2012-13 Los Angeles Clippers Willie Green game-worn home jersey from Opening Day, it's from NBA auctions/Meigray.

I was able to photomatch it with a picture from the Clippers 2012 Media Day. Unfortunately there aren't many in-game photos from Green from 10/31/2012.

2012 Los Angeles Dodgers Alex Castellanos game-worn home jersey from 10/3/2012.

He hit his first Major League home run in the win against the Giants.

After quite some research I found a picture big enough to photomatch it.
It's also MLB authenticated as "game-worn" on game day.

Not a new pickup... But a new autograph on an old bat... Had a great event a few days ago where George told stories and discussed everything from his childhood to barbecuing in his back yard. I thought it was pretty cool that George instantly remembered me from fantasy camp and personal details about myself that he learned about me during fantasy camp. And he also cared enough to take several minutes during his down time to ask me how I was doing. Anyways, short version is that he was as friendly and funny as ever (even though he kept it much more PG-rated than he is in a clubhouse environment).
