Nathan Eovaldi 2012 GU Orange Alt






Very interesting jersey, it's missing the team strip tag and I think I know the reason why. This jersey is authenticated to Eovaldi's final start of the 2012 season (September 30, 2012). That date is a day or so after the Marlins as a team autographed and authenticated all their jerseys from the 2012 season. I can tell by the unique stitching method used on this jersey that it was prepared for Nathan at the stadium and issued to him for his final start. I'm certain there are others such as this that the players wore only during the final few games (4 games) of the 2012 season as their jerseys from earlier in the season had already been signed and authenticated.

Chris Coghlan 2012 GU Orange Batting Helmet








The Marlins used these Orange helmets only one time in 2012 on 04/02/2012 against the Yankees in their final exhibition game prior to the start of the season. The helmets were promptly abandoned because the shade of Orange was incorrect. They have yet to come back in 2013 with a new variation of it so I was very excited to be able to pick this up.

The Marlins BlowOut sale this year was great and the folks at the Community Foundation running it were extremely helpful and gracious. Had a blast!
