I just picked up this Angels flannel jersey. Jersey is tagged with "63" year tag in the tail. Name swatch has been removed.

Number "65" is sewn on back. "California patch logo" sewn on sleeve.

Since this is a road grey, I believe it had "LOS ANGELES" on front in 1963. In 1970, the road greys had "ANGELS" on front and was the first year of the California state logo patch. I think number "65" is too high for a minor league number and this was most likely a spring training shirt. Does it seem possible that a 1963 Los Angeles Angels jersey was recycled for use by the California Angels(spring training) in 1970? Any additional information or comments are appreciated. THANKS IN ADVANCE!
