Re: Game Used Bryce Harper Bat???

SO many Harper bats on the market that he either gave away to minor league teammates or donated them somewhere else. For me, MLB Authenticated Harper bats ONLY.

When College of Southern Nevada assistant baseball coach Sean Larimer received a text message from Washington Nationals star Bryce Harper late last week asking for his mailing address, he knew Harper was going to send some equipment for the junior college program. Larimer just didn’t expect it to be this ...

It is definetly something to look out for but at the same time he gave away true game used bats from his rookie season which are worth alot of money. I did end up buying this bat That I posted though. It was sent with pictures with Harper and the seller in Atlanta at the Braves stadium with the bat. I'm coming close to photo matching it from the end of last year. As soon as Harper does his next signing I will have him sign it with 2012 Game Used and then send it to PSA or Mears to have it Graded. I feel completly confident it's a true game user of 2012 possible into 2013.

I think you made a fine purchase, and if you can photo match it, then it would be spectacular. In any case, send it over to John Taube @ PSA and get it authenticated/graded.

Thanks, I will. I definitely want to get it signed first and then I will send it to John At PSA. Should I tell him that you recommended him to me?

Out of curiosity, any problems dealing with the seller? Any update on the photo matching? Looking to purchase something from him but don't want it to be a fake

No problems as of yet. The bat is a real, was made 8/1/12 and was order by Harper. I am still trying to match it. Some of the pictures I have found that could be winners are from August 6-8 2012 vs. The Astros and I found a picture during batting practice that's real close 8/14/12 against the Giants then that's it for the rest of 2012 until Harper gave the bat to William Hammond on June 1 2013 before the game at the Braves complex. Which was the day the Nationals finally put him on the DL. The picture he sent with Him and Harper looks good since you can see the cut under his left eye when he stupidly crashed into the wall at Dodger stadium. I'm going to order from MLB and watch there archives to see if I can truly match the bat against the Astros during there series in August of 2012. Harper is real tough to match since the majority of the pictures I have seen have the decals away from the photographer . I feel confident though he used this bat at some point during the season.

In reference to the knob stickers. I work in an upper A minor league team in the Carolina league and see allot of the orioles and nationals players on rehab assignments. Most bats of these players have the knob stickers from the major league club but not always. Would guess when Harper first got to Nationals he did not have the knob stickers on the bat. Ones used in 2013 I would guess would have to have the stickers. Have seen allot of the bats for sale at Nationals park and they all have the knob stickers on them. Charlie

Just from occasional but not constant observation, it seemed like last year the stickers were almost always on the bats, and much less so this year.

Also, it's fairly common for Nats players to give the odd BP-used bat out over the dugout before the game (I've seen Harper do it both at home and on the road this year) but I don't think these were gamers - neither of the Harpers I saw come over were Marrucci or Chandler. And I'm not 100% positive, but I don't recall that either of those had a sticker on the knob.

Bryce and Chandler bats donated this HR Derby model bat for us to auction off at the Gio Gonzalez Foundation camp we put on a few weeks ago.
