hey there, I hope things have been good with you. We have emailed each other in the past about 49ers jerseys. I have a 94 throwback gamer from rice I sent you emails about with pictures to look it over and see your opinion on it. Anyways I found a "gamer" of Eric Wright from the niners on craigslist this guy is selling with out a COA or LOA and wanted to see what your opinion on it is. If you have the time to help me out I'd greatly apperciate it. Take care Adam

I have many 49er shirts from the late 80s and the early 90s that were worn years after they were manufactured. I have shirts worn in the 1994 season that have 1990 and 1991 date codes. I also have a few gamers dated 2007 that were worn in 2008.

Always buying 49er game worn jerseys and Steve Young game worn items.

Same applies to the Chicago Bears. I have jerseys that were worn five years after the tag stated year...

I have game worn jerseys I received directly from the Green Bay Packers for players that didn't play for a year or more after the tag on the jersey indicates it was made in. I can therefore confirm (at least in the case of the Packers) that a player jersey tagged from before the player actually played is not a factor to discount a jersey. It is always critical to confirm as many points as you can with any jersey but that issue alone on an otherwise well sourced jersey would not be an issue.

and its size 44...the player was about 5ft 10

I have a gamer from Aaron Schobel, Buffalo Bills, that is a size 46. I am 5'10 and about 200 lbs and **I** can't even get it on.

another tag inside near the bottom says, 100% nylon, made in Berlin, WI,USA, over for care

the tag on the neck says...07-44 so that means the jersey was issued in 2007 ?....

but the player in question did not play for this team until late 2008 !!....

so could this be a fake or is it known for players to wear older jerseys ?

The size is much more important in regards to the authenticity than the year. I think the biggest difference I have seen is 7 years.

I acquired a rookie jersey awhile back in 2010, the jersey had a 05 tag on it and it was a great photomatch as well as mailed to me from the team.
