My first gamer was a late 1990's Florida State game worn helmet. I decided I needed to spice up my tailgate table and wanted a centerpiece. I place my State helmet opposite the team we are playing....looks very cool and always gets conversation and "what's the latest pick-up..." My collection now is approaching 70 gamers...ACC/SEC/NFL

Still have the Florida State...deep burgundy mask...10 or so Tomahawk awards...really displays well.

    I like this thread...keep'um coming!

My first is among my best. It was the jersey Brunell wore against the Steelers 9/22/97, the Jags first ever MNF game. It was a big win for the Jags and was dramatic as Brunell was returning from a bad knee injury suffered in the preseason. Needless to say, I still have it

1986 Reggie Jackson GU jersey bought in 89. I'm an A's fan but for him I was willing to buy a different team's jersey. Got him to sign it at a show in 1990 for $14! LOL. He spent a couple of minutes checking it out, telling me that he didn't wanna sign it if it wasn't real. Still have it. Eventually I'll replace it with an Oakland one

Mine was a Kerry Wood 2002 game used road hat pounded with use. I had him sign it a couple years later and he immediately recognized it as his. It was such a thrill that I will never forget. It might not be much to some, but I bet I'll be in a box before it leaves my possession.

In 1995 I bought a 1994 Rickey Jackson 49ers home jersey that was worn the first game of the season (and his first game as a 49er). I was in the Army at the time and found it in the pages of Sports Collectors Digest.

I remember receiving it in the mail and feeling like it was a irreplaceable gem. A couple of years later I traded it with some cash for a jersey that wound up being a fake.... Live and learn.

When I was about 14 my mom bought me a 98 albert belle signed jersey from the soxfest garage sale. Stopped collecting cards that year and have been on game used ever since.
