Re: December pickups
Haven't posted new pickups in a while
1.) Fred McGriff '84-'85 Syracuse Chiefs LVS.
2.) Tony Gwynn '91-'97 LVS.
3.) A Rod '05 HR #405, 9th inning game winner vs. Schilling in Fenway, great use.
4.) Chipper Jones '93 Richmond Braves Rawlings with tremendous use. Chipper wore #16 in his brief stint with Atlanta that year.

Re: December pickups
I just picked up 2 game used baseballs.
The first one was a ball that Billy Hamilton hit in the 6th inning against Pittsburgh on 9/22 where his speed caused an erroneous throw to first allowing Billy to get on base. This is the first error caused by his speed in the MLB. There will be many more of those!
The second one was pitched during the next at-bat and taken for a ball while Billy Hamilton stole his 12th career base. The catcher unsuccessfully attempted to throw Billy out at 2nd on 9/22 against the Pittsburgh Pirates. The MLB documentation states it resulted in a stolen base by Hamilton.Comment

Re: December pickups
Nick, love those bats. Awesome sig on the Arod. How does he keep all of those bats inventoried? As soon as he hits a HR does someone take it and label it somehow? He must go through a ton! Strange signature on the Crime Dog. Never seen one signed on the handle before. Must've been before paint pens. Good stuff!Comment

Re: December pickups
Thanks Tony & Jason.
Sweet Cano jersey, congrats.
Jason- I've always wondered about keeping track of the bats used. I'm sure the players tell the bat boys ahead of time to keep track of which bat was used which at bat and then they are set aside. Who knows how accurate they really are. I know Bonds made a few errors on his HR bats. Looking on Getty, it appears A Rod was using a bat with a cupped end during that game except for the at bat in the 9th against Schilling so that made me feel better about the accuracy.Comment
