Very cool item. I would think (and this isn't intended to lowball, but rather to be realistic) it's a $500-$700 item, since it would cost a lot to get authenticated, simply due to the number of signatures on it. If you were planning on selling it, your best bet would likely to consign it to an auction house, so they could at least get one of those Pre-Certified or Auction LOA pseudo-authentication things attached to the lot. Otherwise, it will be difficult to get a reasonable value, as your market would be severely limited to individuals who know the early Jeter and Rivera signatures well enough to be comfortable purchasing without authentication.

Gotta love danisei, falsly accuses everyone's items as being not authentic and then gives his opinion on the value as if anyone cares.

When did I claim the helmet wasn't authentic, Nick? I said that one element of the Rivera signature (the fancy R) looked way different than standard for the stated period of 1994.

BTW, thanks for being my fan. I do appreciate that you follow me around on the forum and find new ways to misspell my name.

          Re: June 2014 "Pick-Ups" Thread

I hear you and I don't think you said it wasn't authentic. That being said, I don't factor in cost to get something "authenticated" (and yes, I put it in quotes on purpose) into what something is worth. "Authentication" is often a joke. Not always, but often. You really cannot find team signed minor league balls with Jeter, let alone Jeter AND Rivera. And this, being, 92-93, is really rare. I have been offered close to 3K for a team signed Tampa ball, by a dealer no less, and the autos on this helmet are bigger and bolder. I think anyone relying solely on a "letter of opinion" is foolish. Do your own homework. Or, find someone willing to say "I have an insurance policy that will cover you if I wrongly authenticate something." Opinion? You can keep your opinion. I know what I see and if what I see seems wrong, I don't care if it comes with MLB authentication. Some are sheep. Not me.

I'm no danesei supporter, but you have to be smoking some good stuff to think that "92-93" Jeter signature is legit. The fact that you got it "for a song" is the nail in the coffin. Hope you didn't pay too much for that $5 souvenir helmet with 50 cents worth of silver ink.

Hey PAC. You seem pretty angry. Sorry about whatever went wrong in your day. But no, the Jeter isn't bad. I know where it comes from and it is legit. I have team signed balls from the 93 Hornets and it is the same signature. Try taking a few deep breaths now and then. it'll lower your blood pressure and make it easier for those around you to enjoy whatever your good points might be.

                              Technically a June pick up!

Game used Orlando "El Duque" Hernandez glove.

Forgot to add this to the thread last weekend, but I got in a 2012 White Sox home gamer of bullpen coach Juan Nieves (now the Boston pitching coach).
