I won the ball hit by Reds' top position prospect Jesse Winker for a double in the 2014 Futures Game. I noticed the last few nights he was not playing and was curious if he was injured but no details were available. After the auction ended I found that they released the details that day that he is indeed injured (tendon in wrist) and could miss the rest of the season. Now I know why people stopped bidding!

I would have still tried to win as Winker is a beast for hitting. He'll recover. They'll get him caught up in AZ Fall League or Winter ball. It was a great hit!

Agreed 100%, I guess I've been a Reds fan for too long He will be fine and hopefully starting in LF in late 2015 or 2016, BUT only because I didn't get my "cursed prospect" hands on that ball

I hope so too! I've passed on an items i wanted for the same reason, and then turned out to be a big regret because I did. But that's how it kind of goes with our thinking. A player gets hot, everyone jumps on it. He slows down or gets hurt, and we hesitate.
