wow, i just did a quick search....here's the 1990 game vs the Broncos...he's wearing the long sleeve...I haven't put much effort into it yet but I would like to know where you're getting your pictures from???

I reviewed the video footage for every Raiders road game that season - its 100% that he wore short cut sleeves in every road game in 1990. Fellow GUU member Bgakladd has posted the link to the Raiders at Broncos game in question and sure enough - short cut sleeves.

The discussion of the 44 size, V neck placement, etc are all irrelevant in the case of this particular jersey. The long sleeves eliminate the possibility that the jersey was game worn in 1990.

Didn't the Raiders wear their road black jerseys against the Broncos who wore home white in this Dec.2, 1990 game played in Denver?? Anyways, it isn't uncommon for an article to put a photo from another game or year in their articles. Getty Images shows both games against the Broncos as the Raiders wearing black in 1990.

Anyways, it isn't uncommon for an article to put a photo from another game or year in their articles. Getty Images shows both games against the Broncos as the Raiders wearing black in 1990.

I might have to correct myself...Getty Images has a different date showing Dec. 9, 1990...not Dec.2....rush to judgement on my part.

First things first - The Macgregor emblem did not appear on the jersey sleeve until the 1990 season. The fact that this jersey features the emblem on the right sleeve dates the jerseys specifically to the 1990 season.

The Raiders wear white jerseys for away games. Bo began the 1990 season on 10/21 and played in 6 road games. Let's look at each road game he played in and the jersey type that he wore:

10/21 at SD
-Raiders wore black vs their in-state rivals

11/4 at KC
-white, short cut sleeves

11/19 at Miami
-white, short cut sleeves

12/2 at Denver
-white, short cut sleeves

12/10 at Detroit
-white, short cut sleeves

12/22 at Minn
-white, short cut sleeve


In summary, it is impossible for this jersey to be game worn as Bo never wore the longer sleeve jersey in any road game he played in during the 1990 NFL season.


Further, it looks like this jersey was listed twice on ebay.

My final thought on the Bo size, I always heard years ago back in the early 90's that a size 48 in Macgregor Sandknit jerseys was the correct game worn size. I wasn't the equipment mgr. back then so I can't say what size he wore. I have never seen a game worn Bo jersey carry a Macgregor emblem on the side although it was possible. Anyways it was fun with the research. Thanks for showing it to everybody!
