A Styrofoam ball thrown out at the Meet the Mets ticker tape parade April 1962, before their first home game was ever played. It was signed in ballpoint pen by Gil Hodges.
The Stengel autograph was pre-printed on the balls, so not so valuable for that. I think its value is in the rarity of it...it is one of the earliest Met souvenirs in the world. probably not many still in existence. The Hodges signature, as weak as it is, adds a bit to it. It is hard to sign Styrofoam in ball point ink...wish they had Sharpies in 1962.
