Dating Carolina Clubs bats

I've asked this question before with no response, so I thought I'd try again.

Does anyone know how to date Carolina Clubs bats? I ask specifically because I'm trying to nail down a year for this Derek Bell bat:






Apologies for the width of the picture, but I don't know how to resize for this post.

Chris,

While Derek was with the 2000 Mets he used Carolina Club bats most of the time. I have a CC Derek Bell bat just like yours with the handle shaved but with tape near the knob.

What number is on the knob of this bat. If it's 16 the number Derek wore with the Mets his only season then it would be from 2000.

That make it difficult. I have a article written by Tim Lee from SCD on Carolina club bats. I'll try to dig it up and see if there is any dating info.
