I've noticed that often when a player is injured fairly early in the season and is done for the year, his bats seem to go up for grabs. One year I recall Danny Bautista had a serious shoulder injury and lost the whole last half of the season, and it seemed like everybody was swinging one of his bats, which I could tell a mile off from the distinctive tape job; I even saw Randy Johnson take one to the plate a few times. Last year, it was the same with Stephen Drew; I even saw one of Drew's bats in prospect Wagner Mateo's bag during the Arizona Summer League.

Bat that has been used by Dustin Pedroia during his recent 24 game hit streak. We picked it up from him yesterday. He wants us to make a copy but change the handle some.

What model is this new bat?

It took me about an hour to strip off all the pine tar.

A-Bat makes (or maybe just sells) something to help remove it. Maybe you used it, and I'm not sure how it works. http://www.promaplebats.com/Store/ta...0/Default.aspx
