Carlton Fisk 1983-85 Hillerich & Bradsby Professional Model Game Used bat

Carlton Fisk is a former MLB catcher who played for 24 seasons, eleven of them for the Boston Red Sox where he was a six-time All Star, and thirteen of them for the Chicago White Sox. A unanimous Rookie of the Year selection in 1972, the studious Fisk was at times the best catcher in the American League during the 1970s and 1980s. Fisk was an integral part of the Red Sox team which won the American League pennant in 1975; his dramatic Game 6, 12th-inning, game-winning home run is considered one of the most exciting moments in sports history. In 1980, Fisk moved to the Chicago White Sox, and appeared on an additional five All-Star Game teams with the Chisox. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2000, and both the Red Sox and the White Sox retired his number, with the Red Sox naming the left field foul pole at Fenway Park "Fisk Pole", and the White Sox erecting a bronze statue of the slugger outside U.S. Cellular Field in Chicago.

This is a Carlton Fisk game-used professional model baseball bat manufactured by the Hillerich & Bradsby Company. It is a block letter model bat with Fisk's name stamped in block letters on the barrel as he did not have an endorsement contract with the company at the time of manufacture, or at any time during his career. This bat has what is commonly referred to as 1983-85 era labeling, however is specific to 1985, based on the foil stamping of Fisk's name on the barrel label. The Model Number M110 is stamped into barrel of this cupped end bat. The bat has a hickory finish. It measures 34.5 inches in length and currently weighs approximately 33 ounces. A review of Fisk's H & B personal factory records shows seven orders shipped to Fisk matching the model, finish, and dimensions of this bat. Those orders were shipped between 2/4/85 and 9/8/85.

The knob of this bat contains the number 72 in white paint, Fisk's uniform number with the White Sox. This bat exhibits a significant number of game use characteristics, including hit marks, ball marks, grain swelling, and pine tar residue. This bat exhibits such heavy use in the area of the barrel label that, as common with 1985 and 1986 foil-stamped bats, the player's name is difficult to see.

This is an opportunity to obtain a bat used by Hall of Fame catcher Carlton Fisk that was used in his greatest Home Run season -- 1985 -- when he hammered 37 of his career 376 roundtrippers, the most of any season in his career.
