I'll likely be there as well on Thurs.. Maybe they should have set up a small conference room where all GUU members can gather, meet up, collaborate, have a beer?

I'll be there Thursday. To keep it simple, I'll be wearing my replica Early Wynn jersey.

Was there a GUU book at the previous two nationsls? If so, I didn't see it.

I guess 12:15 is the time of the group photo?

Yes, GUU had booths at the last two Nationals. Both times, as is the case this year as well, our booth was in the corporate area. For reasons I don't quite understand, the programs for the National separate the listings of companies that have booths in the dealer area from those with booths in the corporate area. Unfortunately, I think some people don't realize there are separate listings and may overlook some of the companies in the corporate area.

Just make sure you remember booth 1440 in the corporate area. That's where we will be located.

After we all meet at booth 1440 by 12:15pm, let's all walk over to the food court area.

One item I should put in collector-collector sales, I have a gorgeous Tigers 2005 Budweiser All-Star beer mirror: $275. I'll bring it to the show Thursday if I get a message on here by 5:00 am. Otherwise I'll leave it home.

                            Re: Cleveland National Sports Convention

I attended the National in Cleveland Thursday. My highlights are as follows:

Arrived at open of show 10 am. Ate lunch with longtime friend Mike Bodner/Johnfromclev/Don the A's jersey collector, and met the moustashe man which I enjoyed...........

Located a table selling off the archives of thousands of Sport Magazine photos. Found many Kingman pics at $10 each. Awesome.

Game used... Taube was set up with his typical nice displays of bats. A few other scattered about, very disappointing game used offering here otherwise.

I was gone by 3 pm. I enjoyed seeing people I've met old and new over the years, and it is always a kick being recognized on sight as the "Kingman guy, or skyking" after 30 years. I love it. Good seeing everybody. An entertaining day from a social standpoint. Honestly, from a collecting standpoint as I'm sure Don and John, etc will attest, our hobby networking etc we've all made over the years helps us acquire much more than you'll ever find at one of these shows.

That said, living north of Detroit, the National is a fun day for me when it is located in Cleveland (a often traveled site for my medical concerns), or Chicago (home of several friends as well). Outside of these sights, for me, I would not make the effort unless it was a vacation with the family somehow... Heck , I was home in times for my kid's all-star scrimmage...

                            Peace - RK
