My Pujols/Tino Martinez game used bat has stirred people in two threads I posted, most recently "favorite game used bats"...

I am 100% certain I have a photomatch, but I thought I would ask others...

fyi... the bat is cupped, just hard to take a photo at the same angle

At first i thought it was not a match. But after seeing the two red lines but by the name brand match up on your bat and the bat in the photo, i would say they are a match.

Am I missing something, isn't one bat cupped and the other one is not??? Wouldn't that mean different bats?

Look at the tar on the lower handle by his top hand, its not on Berts bat.

Its a great bat! I dont think your nuts either, just wouldnt call it a photomatch, stylematch is more like it.

Look at the tar on the lower handle by his top hand, its not on Berts bat.

Did you ever think the bat may have gotten more use after the photo... and more tar was added?

my bat does show more use than the pic... lending me to believe the bat was used for a while longer... but there are too many distinct marks for me not to be totally convinced

In my opinion, the different angles of the photos are making the match tougher to see. To me, it's an absolute match. No way it can have that many marks in the same places and it be a coincidence.

I think the difference in angle and light, plus the lower resolution of the game photos, are throwing some people off.

There's no way patterns that similar could appear in that many locations without the bats being a dead-on match.

Ring the bell on it, it's a match.

Dont you think to be a perfect match to this given photo, that every detail would match up perfectly? I think people loosely throw around photomatching.

Given that he couldn't have used Pujols bats that often, I think the matching of marks in the photos would put it in the 'extremely likely' category. I mean, what are the odds of having such similarity given that there isn't a very big sample size (ie, Pujols bats used by Tino)?

If that were the case, people could basically only match items to the last game in which they were used.

In my opinion, its an absolute match.

It is a match, what is obvious is that the bat received more use and pine tar after the game photo was taken. As someone else pointed out, look at the red lines above and to the left of the C-243.

I agree that the term photomatch gets tossed around alot, but in this case...it's fitting. It's a great bat and a soild photomatch. More than enough similarities that are visible - even after the after the fact use.
