Re: Anyone hear from Helen (cordovacollector) lately?
I recieved an email from Helen around late July, early August. She asked me to send her a wantlist of tickets that I was looking for. I sent her a list. But,never heard back. It never dawned on me that this could have happened. So sad. May she rest in peace.Leave a comment:

So Sad, you will be missed Helen!!! Very nice person she was!
I have a feeling that she is reading this thread in a better place! I believe it is true....
Maybe we can use this as a teachable moment to all of us, that life is precious and indeed too short.
Therefor we should ALL be nicer to each other on this forum!
Seriously, make it a point to get on the phone with someone you don't know on here and try to get to know them. I had the pleasure of letting Helen know about my wife that created a bond that I will cherish. We had days of dozens of emails with a lot of personal messages.
Be the change......Leave a comment:

Re: Anyone hear from Helen (cordovacollector) lately?
Very, very sad news to hear, and very unexpected too. I've dealt with Helen a few times and she purchased a couple bats from me. She seemed like a very passionate collector and someone who was collecting for the pure joy of collection. She will be missed.Leave a comment:

I had a few deals with Helen and she was always great to deal with. It always became more of a conversation about why we liked certain players and how we felt about teams. She was great to deal with because the hobby meant so much to her.
She will be missed.Leave a comment:

Helen mentioned the song, "Harmon Killebrew" that meant a lot to her. I located the song on a free MP3 site. I downloaded it on my iPod and listen regularly. It means more now than ever before:

Re: Anyone hear from Helen (cordovacollector) lately?
I can't believe how time flies by and this news is so sad as that is indeed our Helen. My last email from Helen was in August and didn't hear from her in September.
Helen indeed was a Breast Cancer survivor but most don't know she had Multiple Sclerosis and at one time also menengitis and encephalytis.
We bonded so much when I disclosed to her something I hadn't shared with anyone else on the Forum and not many other people at the time. My families' summer shocker in June was that my young wife was diagnosed with Breast Cancer which happened to be the same type that Helen had.
Here was one of Helen's last email to me:
Andrew - My best wishes will be that it was something they were able to deal with entirely with the mastectomies and no need for any other treatment ... other than 1000s of hugs from you and your kids!
This weekend is our Relay For Life survivors walk. If I am able to be out there, I plan to have a luminary in Honor of Lisa - AllStar'sPlus wife!! I'll have them draw two pink bats crossed inside a heart.
Helen (not nosey ... just concerned and interested)
It is amazing how quick life turns and I will say a prayer for Helen as I now know why our communications stopped. I wanted to tell her that my wife had her 2nd surgery 2 days ago and is now cancer free.
A sad day.....Leave a comment:
