Re: Anyone hear from Helen (cordovacollector) lately?
Helen mentioned the song, "Harmon Killebrew" that meant a lot to her. I located the song on a free MP3 site. I downloaded it on my iPod and listen regularly. It means more now than ever before:
Re: Anyone hear from Helen (cordovacollector) lately?
I had a few deals with Helen and she was always great to deal with. It always became more of a conversation about why we liked certain players and how we felt about teams. She was great to deal with because the hobby meant so much to her.
Re: Anyone hear from Helen (cordovacollector) lately?
Very, very sad news to hear, and very unexpected too. I've dealt with Helen a few times and she purchased a couple bats from me. She seemed like a very passionate collector and someone who was collecting for the pure joy of collection. She will be missed.

So Sad, you will be missed Helen!!! Very nice person she was!
I have a feeling that she is reading this thread in a better place! I believe it is true....
Maybe we can use this as a teachable moment to all of us, that life is precious and indeed too short.
Therefor we should ALL be nicer to each other on this forum!
Amen brother! Its amazing how sometimes some random acts of kindness can put a smile on someone elses face.
Seriously, make it a point to get on the phone with someone you don't know on here and try to get to know them. I had the pleasure of letting Helen know about my wife that created a bond that I will cherish. We had days of dozens of emails with a lot of personal messages.
Re: Anyone hear from Helen (cordovacollector) lately?
I recieved an email from Helen around late July, early August. She asked me to send her a wantlist of tickets that I was looking for. I sent her a list. But,never heard back. It never dawned on me that this could have happened. So sad. May she rest in peace.

I'm very sadden to hear of Helen's passing. I will never forget our conversations! Rest in Peace my good friend.

I agree with everyone's sentiments. This is indeed a very sad turn of events. You could tell from her posts that she was a very passionate collector and fan.
Does anyone know how to get in touch with Marty Cordova? I think it would be nice if he knew that his biggest fan passed away. Maybe he would be interested in donating something to help the family out if they need it.
Cordova has an address listed in Smalling's guide. Email me and I'll give it to you to contact him. He's just one state over from you in Nevada (though a bit of a distance on a north/south basis).
