What is your favorite alternate jersey, and your most hated alternate jersey?

At work, a coworker and I began discussing alternate jerseys, and our favorites, and our least favorites. We had a lengthy discussion, and I felt that you all should chime in on this too. It can be a current jersey, a throwback or one that is not worn anymore.

Favorite: Phoenix Coyotes Alternates (old and new)

Least Favorite:1979 Philadelphia Phillies brown jersey.

Least Patriots Silver mostly because it's really hard to tell difference from White jersey

Least Braves Blue look too batting practice like

Favorite love a lot of them.. Penguins baby blues they kept from the Winter Classic as alternate, also like New Avalanche Blue Alternate
Least Senators new black one

NBA
Favorite Mavericks new blue one
Least Lakers Sunday white

Most: Seahwawks lime green
Least: Cowboys "retro" style uniform or the discontinued red Giants jersey

2007-2008 Pirates red alternate vest

- The 1979 Phillies alternate was burgundy, not brown
- The Mets pinstripe jersey is not an alternate; it is the main home jersey. The alternates are the solid white and black.

Like List, MLB: Braves red, Nats red, Giants orange (1977-82, both styles), Pirates black Descentes (1977-84), Indians red and blue (1975-77), Tigers 1995.

Loathe list, MLB: Braves blue (current), Brewers 1990s blue, A's black (current), ANY TBTC alternate/promo uniform that does not accurately reflect the original (many of those).

Like List NFL: Bears orange, Eagles black, Saints gold (2002),
Loathe List, NFL: Seahawks lime green, Chargers powder blue, Cowboys Thanksgiving (the last two due to overexposure, not the designs themselves)

Like List, NBA: Hawks red (current), Lakers Sunday white, Heat red, Bulls black (current)
Loathe List, NBA: Wizards gold (recent), Kings gold (recent), Celtics green with black/white characters (current), mid-1990s Bulls black w/red pinstripes.

Didn't the Mets switch the pinstripes to their alternate for the 2010 season? Plus the Mets, in recent years, primarily wear the solid whites at home, and I just get used to calling those their home jerseys.

Don't like: The Vikings throwbacks, you couldn't even tell they were.

Red Sox (Red) Alternates - You just cant get more of a deep red than that for a jersey / like a blood red.

jeez....you guys really don't like the Braves blue alternates?


I love them. The only one I had in my posession was a Gregor Blanco jersey from 2008 and I loved the new look to them. The regular grey jerseys are getting to be a real bore. The only thing I didn't like is that sometimes when you're watching TV, it may appear like the jersey is in black and white.

Chargers Powder Blue and the Eagles yellow and blue.

least would be all basketball. The Cavs of the 90s with the blue and black. also the bucks of the 90s with the deer on the front. terrible.

a few mentioned the braves blue alt as a least fav...I am torn because I love the braves jerseys however and like the idea of the blue, but it definitely needs some tweaking....

slightly off topic.....the dodgers away jersey....they have to do SOMETHING...how can a storied franchise like that have such horrible looking unis....they should follow the lead of the Red Sox....very subtle changes made a big difference....

Favorite Alternate:
1978 San Diego Padres alternate Gold jersey (the one with brown sleeves and brown v-neck). They wore this mostly in conjunction with the alternate gold pants.

Least Favorite Alternate:
Dallas Stars black "cow head" jersey. That was pretty bad.
