Re: ESPN 30 for 30 Documentaries
"The U" was worth watching if you ever watched college football in the 1980's and 90's.
I know we all root for the "good guys" but to see how much of a joke the U was before Schnellenberger took over. Then to see these poor inner city kids who came into the program with smashmouth, "I'm gonna kill you sucka and look good doing it" brand of football.
Jeremy Shockey said it all."If every kid who plays high school football in South Florida played for the U, they would never lose a game"
God I miss seeing the Big Bad Canes. Never a boring Miami game back then and to see the background of Jimmy Johnson letting the inmates run the asylum as long as they won was incredible.

Completely agree - enjoyed the Who Killed the USFL with Trump being a total D-bag and really loved "The U"!
And saw the Magic and Bird special on HBO - very well done

Re: OT: ESPN 30 for 30 Documentaries
I havent seen any of the documentaries, however, i dont believe that ESPN ruins everything it touches, it is more the parant company, ABC...
Every since they bought ESPN, ESPN has 100% been worse and worse...however, you have to say they did a great job with baseball....they took baseball when NOBODY wanted it, and turned that sport around.....some will say the steroid era did this, but imo espn did much to help baseball regain its old glory....Leave a comment:

They apparently will be coming out on DVD, the website provides an email address (below) to send your info to and they will contact you when they are available. Of course I am sure you will see non-stop commercials for it when the DVDs are available.
They are also on itunes, but are $5 per episode (yikes).

Re: OT: ESPN 30 for 30 Documentaries
Speaking of Showtime (which I don't have), I have been dying for that AFL documentary to come out on DVD. Any thoughts on it from those of you that have seen it ?
Thanks

If we are talking NFL, showtime is the only place that does justice. But sadly 2% of the population actually sees any of it.Leave a comment:

These are excellent -easily the best thing ESPN has done in years. In my opinion ESPN eventually ruins everything it touches but did hit a homerun on this series.Leave a comment:

I hope they run some sort of a marathon of these over the holidays....I haven't seen a bad one yet (although the "Band that Wouldn't Die" is my favorite).Leave a comment:
