Hi there-XPRESS-Well you know living the dream.Whats been going on with you.Wait i see whats been going on.It takes alot of time i know to organize your room just right.I am just about to send jason giambi some photos i took of him when he was a yankee to get signed threw the mail.I sent it to the rockies fan mail address.Sure hope he gets them and signs by mail.I did not have any luck this last time with the a's.As i sent alot to him and never got them back.So i dont even know if he got them.I went and hung out at the rockies hotel when they were in town here in minnesota. But giambi never came out and signed. And i was upset as i thought he would.Well hope you get your items signed at the game.Always great to hear from you.

Glad you enjoyed the pics. Adding a few pieces (or at least adding autos to a few pieces) this week.

A buddy just got my 1998 ASG McGwire jersey signed down at Coors Field and I'm going down tomorrow and Thursday to try and add some Holliday autos and maybe another McGwire or two.

    All the best -

    Chris

No problem, but I can't take full credit. The idea was originally introduced by other members over a year ago in another thread on display ideas.

I am glad you like the 'finished' product though!!!

I don't remember the brand, but it's Wal Mart and they cost $25.00 each (they use to be $29.99 but they dropped the price about 3 months ago.)

    Hope this helps!

    Chris,

Great job and and love the bookshelf idea....I think I am going to copycat it !

Do you remember or do you know what brand bookshelf it is....I want to start seeking them out, check the sizes etc, to see if I can incorporate them into my 'will be' sports room !

Thank you in advance for any and all help you can provide.

Here's a few pics of some of the comics - all are Poor to Good Grade (I'm not looking to spend a fortune on Fine to Mint) but all are complete:

And a few Sketch Cards and Signed Art (no Original Art other than Sketch cards right now):

    Hope you enjoy the preview!!!

but seriously, the room really looks nice and your collection continues to amaze me! You've quietly added a lot of really nice items over the past couple of years. Thumbs up my friend.

Thanks so much for the kind words. As far as the comics and such... We're actually looking at a very nice SPY eyewear case that has become available here in Denver. If we get it and start to show off some of the Comics and such, I will add that to the post.

While I have you here - any interest in some Garrett Atkins stuff??? I hear the O's sent him down and 'wished him the best' which doesn't sound like he's coming back.

On another note, was it you that offered to get my George Will book signed? If so, please write me with your addy so I can send it to you - xpress34@comcast.net

I found the small one on CL from an Optical Shop that was going out of business (I paid $200 for it) and it was steal as I see they on eBay from time to time and they generally sell for between $600 and $1,000.

The large one was the bigger steal - at retail it would be around $2,000 - $2,500. It was in a guys booth at the local weekend flea market and I asked not thinking he would sell it. He dropped a number and I dropped cash for it - $280.

Just check your local Craigs List (CL) for display cases and such.

1st it needs to be framed out. The walls are solid concrete. We're planning on moving to AZ in a couple of years (kid graduate HS in 2012) and the cost and return for doing a finish job don't currently add up in the housing market.

As far as the Vintage Balls, I will post some pictures later for you, but I own 3 pre-1933 Red/Blue Stitch AL Balls, 1 pre-1933 Red/Black Stitch NL Ball, a 19th century Spalding 'seamless' or 'inside out' stitched ball, a 1930's Reach 'scout' ball, a few 1940's, 50's and 60's NL and AL balls, etc.
