    Sports Memorabilia-related Euphemism

I was listening to a radio discussion this morning on the subject of euphemisms, and it turned to ways of expressing the idea that someone had died without actually using the "d" word.

One of the participants mentioned that he had a friend who was involved in sports memorabilia, and his way of saying that someone had died was, "He's not signing anymore."

A show promoter friend of mine shared a story with me many years ago of a call from a collector asking about times and prices for Lefty Gomez's appearnce.
Promoter: "Sorry, but Gomez died a few weeks ago".
Collector "So...does that mean he won't be signing at your show?"
