Member of Billyball A;s teams dies.

Mitchell Page, a hard-hitting outfielder for the Oakland A's in all but his final season, died today at age 59.

Page played in the majors for Okalnd from 1977-83, spending a brief final season in 1984 with Pittsburgh (16 G, 12 AB).

Page later became a hitting coach.

Wow, sorry to hear that Page passed away at such a relatively young age. He was a player on A's teams when I first really started watching baseball as kid.

If it wasn't for some guy named Eddie Murray, Page would have won Rookie of the Year in 1977. Wonder whatever happened to that guy Murray??
