    Its sad. An era is ending. In three years or maybe sooner if next season is lost to a lockout Shaq, Duncan, Kidd, Vince Carter, Nash, Ray Allen, Grant Hill and Garnett will all be retired. Pierce and Kobe may also be retired or if they are still playing shells of their former selves.

    It'll be interesting to see how much weight The Big AARP puts on now that he's not playing. He wasn't much for conditioning in the later stages of his career so he has the potential to get HUGE...

    Add to that an acknowledgement by Shaq that, when he is inducted, he will go in as a Laker.

    ESPN also reported that, although no set date has yet been selected, the Lakers will retire Shaq's #34 jersey.

    Man...

    I remember him when I was in 8th grade! He went to the same grammar school for a few years when his step father was stationed at the bayonne Military Ocean terminal. Friggin kid was huge as a 5th grader!
